Training in TFP-AIT requires both a didactic and supervision experience. Currently there are three places to receive this training. The primary site is in White Plains, New York, where the treatment has been developed. There are additional training opportunities in Basel, Switzerland (jointly with Cologne Germany) and Santiago, Chile. These sites work closely with the group in New York to provide didactic training opportunities.
Who should apply? There are minimum standards of training and experience required to begin this specialized training. An advanced degree as well as clinical experience with adolescents and a solid knowledge of psychodynamics is essential. Each persons' particular credentials will be reviewed, prior to enrollment in the supervisory component of the training.
How to apply? First, we recommend participation in one of our open workshops. Look on the "Activities" page for upcoming workshops near you. If there is none available, please contact us to arrange a workshop or to arrange a visit to our New York group for a short course. Second, after you have received the initial didactic training during a workshop and you are interested in learning to apply the treatment model, complete an application for participation in a supervision group.
If you have any questions, please email us or simply complete the form below. Thank you.
