Mission Statement
The Adolescent Project serves patients, families, school personnel, clinicians and researchers in understanding and facilitating adolescent identity development through treatment, trainings, research, education and outreach, by providing interventions and supports to prevent the development of personality disorders and their debilitating effects on interpersonal, academic and social functioning.

The Adolescent Project would not exist without the dedication and enthusiasm of the many volunteers that share a vision of early detection and intervention for at-risk adolescents. Each year, people volunteer to be clinicians and researchers on the project. Many stay involved, and have been with us since the beginning over 5 years ago!
Our volunteers come from many places. Some volunteers are clinicians in training programs, who come to our group to learn this unique model of treatment and approach to parents and families. Many are Visiting Fellows to the Personality Disorders Institute, who have come for varying lengths of time from all over the world. We have been fortunate to have incredibly motivated High School students who are interested in learning about research, as well as retirees who are looking for something meaningful to participate in.
In addition to the clinical and research aspects, there are a wide variety of outreach programs that we need help with. Please consider volunteering to help create the educational materials for distribution to schools, health professionals, parents and adolescents!
